We must not allow the hate he inspires eek into our own bones.
We must not allow the fear he conjures drive us forward or freeze us still.
We must not allow the wall he promises to build raise itself in our hearts.
We must not allow the many divides he fabricates, break apart our own worlds.
We must not allow the pain he draws upon, prick our skin and bleed us dry.
We must not allow the old principles he stands for divert and muddle the new ones we live for.
We must not allow his crushing, vicious views of different people inform the way we perceive and relate to others around us.
We must not buy into his demoralizing and dehumanizing judgments of gender or body or skin or race or religion or belief.
We must not allow ourselves to shrink at his words, or declare defeat at his actions.
We must not allow ourselves to recoil or blindly lash out in the presence of his followers.
And, we must certainly not allow him or his supporters to crush our spirits, repress our values, stifle our joy, or smother our voice.
